Vineyard Surface Area For World’s Leading Nations in Decline...Except in Italy
The world’s leading nations in vineyard surface area have seen a decline in recent years, with Spain – the world’s number one – experiencing a negative trend in six of eight years, including the last three years in a row. France and China, number two and three in the world, respectively, have also seen negative trends in recent years. Only Italy (#4 in the world) has experienced growth in recent years in vineyard surface area change from the previous year, and most notably, has maintained consistent growth in every year but one since 2016.
