Spain Wine Production, by Region
As with wine grape production, Spain’s Castilla La Mancha region leads the nation in the production of wine, accounting for nearly 57% of all the wine produced by Spain. Ranking a distant second is the Extremadura region responsible for 9.2% of the nation’s total production of wine, followed by Cataluña at 6.9% and Castilla y León at 6.8%.
At the opposite end of the spectrum is Asturias and Cantabria, each region accounting for less than 0.01% of Spain’s total wine production, followed by the Madrid, Baleares, and Canaries regions – each contributing less than 1.0% of the nation’s total wine production.
