The Languedoc and Roussillon regions of France have been making wine since the time of the ancient Phoenicians and Greeks arrival and settlement. Blessed with a year-round dry and warm Mediterranean climate and diverse terroir, the combined Languedoc and Roussillon is a major producer of French wine. Once known mainly for bulk wine, modernization and innovation is fuelling the emergence of the Languedoc and Roussillon as the source of a diversity of high-quality and high-value wines.
