The international wine trade continued its downward trend in 2023, as the global trade by volume declined to its lowest level since 2010 to 99.3 mhl. Of the world’s top 10 wine exporting countries, nine saw a decline in exports by volume from the previous year. While the top import markets maintained their positions in the top three globally, the United States saw a significant decline by volume of −14.6% from the previous year, dropping out of first.
