Champagne Wine Map

The world’s most prestigious wine region for traditional method sparkling wine – Champagne – is centered on the mostly chalk plateau of Montagne de Reims. This vineyard area contains, by far, the most Grand Cru villages (see inset). This map also highlights the other four major vineyard areas and descriptions of what makes each unique. Not to be forgotten, the Champagne region also produces an excellent Pinot Noir still red wine in a Burgundian style, and a rosé wine with it’s own delimited appellation.

A wall map of the Champagne wine region in France. The map depicts the delimited appellations/Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) and vineyard areas in Champagne, including the still wine appellations Coteaux Champenois and Rosé des Riceys. An inset highlights vineyard areas and Grand and Premier Cru villages from Reims to Épernay.

The map includes the principal black and white grape varieties for the region, and the authorized wine type for every AOC.

All base map information is originally digitized from satellite imagery. Map includes digital shaded relief. All wine-related content is derived from official national sources and regional wine associations.
