Provence Wine Map

What was once Rome’s first province beyond the Alps, Provence enjoys a climate and terroir that has favored vineyard cultivation for thousands of years. Best known for its iconic rosé wines, Provence is also renowned for excellent Bandol AOC red wines and Cassis AOC white wines. The warm climate and sun-drenched region – home to the world-famous French Riviera (Côte d'Azur) – are ideal for the cultivation of Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsaut red wine grapes.

A wall map of the Provence wine region in France. The map depicts all of the delimited wine appellations/Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in Provence, from the Rhône river to the Italian border. The map includes the principal black and white grape varieties of the region and the authorized wine type for every AOC.
